BF Students Earn Awards at IHSMA Solo/Ensemble Festival

Several B-F music students presented solos/duets at the IHSMA Solo/Ensemble contest at Greene County High School on March 25th. Wyatt Bailey selected for OPUS Honor Choir

  Wyatt Bailey, a freshman, was recently selected for participation in the thirty-first annual Opus Honor Choir Festival. Selections were made by means of a recorded audition, and singers judged on musicianship, tone quality, intonation and rhythm. Over 3,000 students from around Iowa auditioned for this honor. The 2016 Opus Honor Choir will perform at 4:00 p.m.

Choral Students Participate in Master Class with Drake University Professor

7 students auditioning for the All-State Chorus on October 22 in Indianola, Iowa, had the opportunity to sing in front of renowned Drake Unviersity Voice Faculty Edward Corpus.   Professor Corpus has a lengthy resume, including numerous roles at the Des Moines Playhouse, his latest role being Gomez Addams in their 2015 production of The Addams

Students sing National Anthem at First Home Volleyball Game

Seven choir students shared their talents at Thursday night’s first home volleyball game against Oskaloosa. Brenna Hamborg, Peyton Maulsby, Jessica Fenton, Matthew Lorentzen, Spencer Swanson, Louis Long and Julianna Knoot sang the National Anthem to kick off what became a win for the 2016 LadyJays.
