On Friday April 30th Payton Rowe signed his letter of intent to continue his academic and cross country/track athletic career at Simpson College.
Here are some comments from Payton, “I choose Simpson because it’s a great, smaller campus. Simpson’s location is perfect to get a college experience, but also come home on the weekends if I wanted too. I plan to study Pre-Law. I am going to prepare to go in there with the mindset that there will be a learning curve. To be patient with my body and mind to grow accustomed to college athletics and college classes.”
Bondurant-Farrar Head Boys Track Coach Kyle Hammes had this to say about Payton, “Payton is one of the hardest workers on the team. He is fully committed to each sport that he is in and has outstanding work ethic. He’s a positive example for our younger members in both school and Track & Field. I will miss his leadership and work ethic as well as his positive attitude and sense of humor. He is highly competitive and a great teammate to his peers. Simpson College is getting a quality young man who will represent himself well as both a student and an athlete.”
Simpson College Cross Country Head Coach (and assistant Mens Track Coach) Heath Moenck made the following comments about Payton, “Payton is an exceptional young adult who will be a great addition to our campus community and on our cross country and track teams. He is the complete package- great person, exceptional student, and terrific runner. You can never have too many of those in your program! He also comes from a great family which is always a bonus! Payton is someone we will rely on heavily in the mid-distance events on the track. Our conference has a lot of relay opportunities and of course open events. He is going to be a key leg on those relays for all four years and someone we can rely on in multiple events.”
