Thursday April 29th we recognized our senior boys track athletes.  Below is a summary of each senior.  We greatly appreciate the seniors (and parents) for their effort, dedication and hard work.  Go Bluejays!

Jordan Clark is the son of Susie Downing and Bryan Clark. He is involved in cross country and track
and lettered in both. He has also received the Academic Excellence Award three times. His plans
following High School are to attend Iowa State University and major in finance. “Thanks dad for
always pushing me to try my best and thanks mom for encouraging me to do the things I love.”



Payton Rowe is the son of Jason and Nicole Rowe. He was involved in cross country, basketball,
wrestling, track, and speech. He has lettered in cross country, wrestling, and track. He has also gone
to state in cross country and speech. He is also part of the National Honor Society and Silver Cord.
Following High School, Payton plans to attend Simpson College to study Pre-Law and run cross
country and track. “Don’t dream of winning, train for it” – Mo Farah

Ethan Bartimus is the son of Traci and Mitch Turner. He is involved in bowling, basketball, football,
and track. He plans to attend DMACC for 2 years then transfer to a 4-year university. One of Ethan’s
favorite quotes is “Asking questions and having humility is the key to bettering oneself.”


Spencer Pitts is the son of Bill and Amanda Pitts. He is involved in baseball, track, cross country,
basketball, FCA, and bluejay digital live streams. He has received a varsity letter in baseball, cross
country, and track. Upon graduation, he plans to go to DMACC or Iowa Central Community College
for culinary arts and to play baseball. A favorite quote from Spencer: “If you want to look good in
front of thousands, you have to outwork thousands in front of nobody” -Brian Hoff

Cash Lilly is the son of Troy and Staci Lilly. He is involved in basketball, track, and Senior Art Seminar.
He has received both state-wide and national scholastic art awards. Following High School, he plans
to attend Iowa State to study Landscape Architecture. “To my family, friends, coaches, and teachers,
I am immensely grateful for the ways that you have inspired me along the way.”


Lain Wilson is the son of Ben & Faith Kolo, and David Wilson. He is involved in football, basketball,
and track. He is all district in football and a state track qualifier in the 4×100, 4×200, and long jump.
Lain plans to attend DMACC and major in Business. “I’d like to thank my family, and all of my coaches
and teammates for working with me and being there all the way throughout my career. Go Jays!”

Ryan Abens is the son of Darren and Jana Abens. He is involved in cross country, track, baseball,
select choir, jazz choir, speech, the musical, and DECA. He is also on the “A” honor roll. Ryan plans to
attend Iowa State University to study computer engineering. A favorite quote from Ryan,
“sometimes you may never know the value of a moment until it becomes a memory.”

Trenton Silvers is the son of Crissy and Gregg Silvers. He is involved in cross country, track, jazz choir,
select choir, NHS, speech, the musical and the play. He ran varsity in cross country and track and
even attended a leadership conference for XC. He is involved in NHS, NSHSS, science department
SotM, and went to state speech. Trenton plans to attend DMACC and study either science or nursing.
A favorite quote from Trenton, “Life is like a hurdle race, to finish, you have to jump over a few
obstacles to reach your goals.”

Saje Hellstern is the son of Trish and Roger Rench, and Robert Hellstern. He is involved in track and
speech. Following high school, he plans to find full time employment. A favorite quote from Saje, “In
this life you will experience hardship and tribulation, but don’t let those life altering experiences defy
you as a person. Write your own story. Defy the odds.”

Brayton Hannan is the son of Lindsey Hoelscher and Eric Hannan. He is involved in football, track,
and bowling. Upon graduation he plans to attend Iowa State University to study architecture.

Ty Beresford is the son of Sharese and Lance Beresford. In his four years of highschool, Ty has
participated in FCA, Awanas, and church youth group. Ty has played football all four years and ran
track all four years as well. Ty’s awards and recognitions include: Silver Cord, 4x Academic All
District in Football, 4x Academic All District in Track, Citation Award in Awanas, 3x Varsity Letter
in Football and Track, 2x State Track Participant, and 4x Academic AB Honor Roll participant.
Upon graduation, he plans to attend Iowa State to major in Cyber Security Engineering. A favorite
quote from Ty, “One dog dollar is worth seven human dollars.”

Ryan Snider is the son of Kami and Steve Snider. While in high school, he has participated in Football,
Baseball, Track, and Rugby. His post-graduation plan is to attend DMACC in the fall to study
Construction Management.

Devon Keuning is the son of Holly and Tarrell Keuning. While in high school, he has participated in
Baseball, Cross Country, and Track. He has received an academic letter award. His post-graduation
plan is to run cross country at DMACC and take general education courses. A quote from Devon,
“Run fast, turn left.”
