On Tuesday February 9th we recognized girls winter athletes and on Thursday February 11th we recognized our boys basketball program senior team members.  Below is a brief summary of each senior, as well as a few photos.  We greatly appreciate all the hard work, effort and dedication our seniors (and their families) have given to their program!  Thanks!  Congrats Seniors and Best Wishes!

Girls Basketball

Katherine Fogarty is the daughter of Dan and Sheri Fogarty. She is involved in volleyball, basketball,
student council, and NHS. She plans to attend Briar Cliff University and major in Exercise physiology
while continuing her basketball career. Thank you to my friends and coaches for supporting me during
my time at Bondurant-Farrar and an even bigger thank you to my family for always being my biggest
fans. I have loved wearing the Blue and White and I couldn’t be more grateful for Bluejay nation! GO
JAYS!

Avery Fried is the daughter of Jerrett and Tania Fried. She is involved in basketball, volleyball and NHS.
She plans to attend Upper Iowa University to further her basketball and academic career. “I want to
thank my family, coaches, teammates, friends, and Bluejay nation for 4 years of support and the best
memories. I am so blessed to be a part of such a great program and community. GO JAYS!”

Riley Gilroy is the daughter of Amy Gilroy.  She is involved in volleyball, track, basketball, softball, NHS, FCA and student council.  She plans to attend Iowa Central to continue her academic career in sports medicine and play softball.  “I want to thank my coaches for always pushing me to do my best.  Thanks you to my Mom, Kolby and Macey for all the sacrifices and for always being there.  To my grandparents and family, thank you for always being my biggest fans.  Big thanks you to Sarah Moss for being the best Athletic Trainer around and for always keeping me healthy.  To the Bondurant Community, thank you for always supporting us.  Thank you to my teammates, for all the unforgettable memories that you have given me!  GO JAYS!

 

Malai Peffer is the daughter of Jen and Bob Peffer.  She was involved in track freshman year of high school and played basketball all 4 years of high school.  She plans to attend Kirkwood Community College in the Diagnostic Assistant Program.  “I would like to thank my family first for always supporting  me.  My coaches for me pushing me to work harder.  Finally, I would like to thank the staff form making our senior year possible.  Go jays!”

Brenna Petersen is the daughter of Thomas and Loni Peterson. She is involved in basketball and
mentoring. Brenna plans to attend DMACC and study dental hygiene. “I would like to thank my friends,
family, and coaches for all of the support over the years and to my teammates, thank you for all of the
memories we have shared on and off the court, it is something I will truly never forget. Also, shout out
to Sarah and Brittany for always keeping us Bluejay athletes healthy and supporting us. We appreciate
you! Go Jays!

Casi Waterhouse is the daughter of Glenn and Cheri Waterhouse. She is involved in basketball, soccer,
NHS, and is the Student Council President. She plans to attend William Jewell College to continue her
academic and basketball career. “Thank you to my family whom have been my biggest support system
and have shown me that hard work and dedication will lead to success. Thank you to the coaches,
teammates, friends, and teachers who have pushed me to be the best version of myself. And lastly, a
huge thank you to Bluejay Nation and this community for always having this team’s back. Go jays!

 

Basketball Cheer

Lauren Jones is the daughter of Kris and Jason Jones. She is involved in football and
basketball cheer, state cheerleading, choir, fall play, spring musical, choir, and honor
squad. Lauren plans to attend Iowa State University and major in business analytics
with a minor in business management. “I would like to thank my coaches for
pushing me to be better than I could be and I would like to thank my mom and
dad for being my biggest supporters and for helping teach me how to be
successful in the future.”

Kristina Henrichs is the daughter of Carla Henrichs. She is involved in Varsity Football
and Basketball cheer, DECA, NHS, Fall and Spring musical, marching, concert, and jazz
band, speech, golf, choir, and art. She plans to attend an out of state University and
double major in architecture and business. “I want to thank my family, friends, and
coaches for all of their support over the last four years.”

Josi Engle is the daughter of Chad and Wendi Engle. She is involved in Concert,
select, and jazz choir. Concert and Marching Band. Wild farm kids 4H, Bondurant
FFA, 4H Polk county council, JV Football Cheerleading, Varsity Basketball
Cheerleading, and Track & Field. After High School, Josi plans to sing and further her
music career. “Thank you to my teachers, Mr. Wipperman and Mr. Hucke. Also
Thank you to my church pastor, Trevor Pinegar.”

Dance
Alexis Crook is the daughter of Brian and Heather Crook. She is involved in Dance
Team, Track, and NHS. Alexis finished 2nd place twice and 3rd place once at the Iowa
Dance Team State Solo Competition; competed at the State Track Meet, Dance
Captain for 3 years and on the Honor Roll all 4 years of high school. After High School,
she plans to attend a university to study nursing and continue her dancing career. “I
would like to thank my whole family and all of my coaches for always pushing me to
do my best and being my support system throughout life. I wouldn’t be where I am
without them and the opportunities they have given me.”

Girls Basketball Manager

Presley Dvorak is the daughter of Mary Dvorak. She has been the manager for the
girls’ basketball team for 4 years. She is also involved in FCA, soccer, and select choir.
Presley plans to attend a 4-year college and major in nursing. “I want to thank my
mom, siblings, and friends for all of the encouragement and support throughout my
high school career.”

 

Boys Basketball Manager

Olivia Elrod is the daughter of Jen and Doug Elrod. She the boys’ basketball manager and also involved in track and softball. She plans to attend DMACC then transfer to Iowa to become a pediatrics nurse practitioner. “I want to thank all my family, friends, coaches, and teachers for helping me get to where I am today.”

Cade Eichmeyer is the son of Marc and Catherine Eichmeyer. He is involved in Football, Basketball, and Track. Cade plans to attend Iowa State University in the fall. “I want to thank my family for all the support they have given me over the years. I would also like to thank my many coaches who have taught me what I know today.”

Ben Trulson is the son of Tim and Holly Trulson. Activities in High School: football, basketball, golf, FCA. Plans after High School are to attend Iowa State University and major in business. “I would like to thank my parents for their unwavering support throughout my athletic career, my coaches for putting me into situations to make me successful, and all my teammates for making these memories amazing.”

Braden Miller is the son of Trent and Heather Miller. He is involved in football, basketball, golf, and baseball. He plans to attend Iowa State University in the fall. “Thank you to coach Evans and coach Weirsma for the last 3 years. Thank you for giving me a chance and allowing myself to grow as a player and person, go jays.”
