Monday February 1st our senior members of the bowling team were recognized prior to their meet against Oskaloosa at Great Escape.  The boys responded with wins at the JV & V level.  Girls Varsity lost a close one and JV girls put up an 1100 good for 7th all time at that level.  Senior Kameron Doughman set the new series record with a 504!  JV and Varsity boys put up their best baker games every JV -244 V- 266!!!  Below are some photos and a brief summary of each senior.  Go Bluejays!

Caitlyn Kirby is the daughter of Shellie Kirby. She is involved in volleyball, track, and bowling. Caitlyn plans on attending Iowa State to study psychology. “I would like to thank all the people in my life who have always supported me in everything I do, especially my mom who is truly my biggest supporter.”

Grace Werner is the daughter of TJ and Katie Werner. She is involved in cheerleading, bowling, fall play, and the musical. She plans on attending DMACC in the fall. “I would like to thank my parents for never giving up on me. I would also like to thank my coaches for giving me a chance.”

Brayton Hannan is the son of Lindsey Hoelscher and Eric Hannan. He is involved in football, track, and bowling. He plans on studying architecture at Iowa State University.

Gabe Barkema is the son of Jon and Melissa Barkema. His activities in high school include NHS, basketball, soccer, and bowling. After high school he plans on attending DMACC to study business. His favorite quote is, “I have nothing to lose, but something to gain.”

Gavin Bennett is the son of Ashley and Mike Bennett. He is involved in baseball, basketball, and bowling. After High School he plans on going to a trade school.

Ricky Burke is the son of Rich and Sarah Burke. He is involved in soccer, wrestling, bowling, and NHS. He has lettered in academics, wrestling, soccer, and was on the homecoming court this year. He plans on doing the Waldinger Apprenticeship upon graduation.

Kamryn Carter is the daughter of Paul and Paula Carter. She is involved in bowling, golf, volleyball, track, FCA, DECA, NHS, and large group speech. Following High School, Kamryn plans to major in Biology. “Thank you to my family whom have been my biggest support system and have shown me that hard work and dedication will lead to success. Thank you to my friends, coaches, and teachers who have pushed me to be the best version of myself. And lastly, a huge thank you to bluejay nation. Go jays!”

Shane Paige is the son of Matt and Karla Paige. He is involved in bowling and baseball. He was a part of the 2019 state team and finished in the top 15 at the state tournament. He plans to go to DMACC in the fall then transfer to Iowa State to study Business. “I want to thank my mom and dad for pushing me to stick with bowling which helped me have a lot of good experiences that I hope to remember for years to come, and thanks to the coaches who have been here and watched this team grow in these last four years; finally  for the team, it’s been fun bowling with you guys this season and let’s see if we can get another banner for the school, and another trip to Cadillac lanes.”

Kameron Doughman is the son of Brian Doughman and Lacey May. He is involved in baseball, bowling and NHS. He is the 2019 district champion and 2nd team all-conference. “I’d like to thank my parents and coaches for helping me along the way and for pushing me to become a better person. GO JAYS!”

Ethan Bartimus is the son of Traci and Mitch Turner. He is involved in bowling, baseball, football, and track. One of his favorite quotes is “Asking questions and having humility is the key to bettering oneself.”

Skylar Mullen is the daughter of Tim and Kairee Mullen. She is involved in volleyball, soccer, and bowling. She also is in NHS, is a 4-year academic letter winner, and a state volleyball qualifier. Skylar plans to attend DMACC for nursing. “Thank you to my volleyball girls for convincing me to do bowling last year. Bowling has been so much fun! I have made improvements and made so many friends. Thank you bluejay nation and Go Jays!”

Noah Robben is the son of Amanda and Dustin Robben. He is involved in bowling, track, and cross country. He plans to start an apprenticeship as an electrician.
