Friday January 22nd Devon Keuning signed with DMACC to run cross-country next fall!
Here is what Devon had to say, “DMACC gives me the ability to take general courses while I decide what career I want to pursue. The opportunity to run cross country helped me know this was the right choice for me. I plan on getting an associates degree before transferring to a university to pursue a bachelors. I plan to apply the same work ethic Coach Bone expects from every runner on the cross country team.”
Bondurant-Farrar Head Cross-Country Coach Erin Bone had this to say about Devon, “Devon is a loyal and hardworking person. He always completed the workout as written, and made cross country and the team in general a priority in his life. I will miss seeing Devon sprint around courses cheering for his teammates. His enthusiasm and encouragement for his teammates never waivered. Even on days where he might not have had a great race, he was still spreading positive energy. Even on days where the weather was causing others to stay near camp huddled in warm clothes, he was out cheering on teammates. Devon earned the Bluejay Pride award his senior season. This award is given to athletes who represent themselves, their team, and their school in a positive way in all situations. This award describes perfectly the type of student-athlete DMACC will be getting with Devon. He works hard, respects his coaches and teammates, and wants to do everything possible to help everyone improve and be successful.”
DMACC Head Coach Michael Melchert had these comments, “I was impressed with Devon’s times in high school. He comes from a great program and after meeting with him and his family I knew he would be a great fit for our program. I see Devon as making an impact immediately. He will not only be great for our team performance wise, he will also be an asset for our team culture. We are excited to get Devon on campus and show what he can do.”
