Thursday January 14th Senior Cheerleaders, Managers and Wrestlers were recognized between the double dual with Winterset and Ballard.  The team fell to Winterset 48-25, but bounced back with a 40-33 victory over Ballard.  Below is a brief summary of each senior.  The team returns to dual action this evening at Adel for a double dual with ADM & North Polk.  GO BLUEJAYS!

2020-21 Wrestling Senior Night

Cheerleaders:  

Madison Hoover is the daughter of Jason and Melissa Hoover.  Activities in High School: Marching band and concert band, football and wrestling cheer, and musical.  Plans after High School: Go to Faith Baptist bible college and study elementary education.  Madison’s’ quote “Virtually nothing is impossible in this world if you put your mind to it and maintain a positive attitude” Lou Holtz

 

Managers: 

Grace Heydon is the daughter of Chris and Jenny Heydon.  Activities in High School: 4-H, youth group, FFA, Football Managing, Wrestling Managing.  Plans after High School: Either DMACC or I´ll just open my own coffee shop.  Live life to the fullest. Do as much as you can to leave a mark in high school. I would like to thank Cody, Chase, and all my friends on the wrestling team, for everything they did and for making this season one to remember.

Grace Swanson is the daughter of Stacy and Crystal Swanson.  Activities in High School: Track and Field, FCA and wrestling manager.  Plans after High School: Attend DMACC majoring in dental hygiene. I want to thank all my friends, family, and teachers for all of the support over the years, I couldn’t have done it without them.

Wrestlers:

Rylie Anderson is the son of Todd and Arlene Anderson.  Activities in High School: Cross-Country, Student Council, National Honor Society, Rugby, and Wrestling.  Plans after High School: Rylie will be attending MIT to study Computer Science and enroll in the Naval ROTC program. Upon graduation, Rylie will commission as an officer in the US Navy, and pursue a career in either military aviation or cybersecurity. I would like to thank the wrestling coaches for being so supportive of me on and off of the mat, staying after practice to help me get some bit of technique down, performing my ROTC fitness evaluations, writing letters of recommendations, and            much, much more. Everything I have achieved thus far, I owe in part to you.

Kanon Ekstam is the son of Karl and Gina Ekstam.  Activities in High School:  Wrestling.  Plans after High School: Industrial Engineering at Iowa State.  I want to thank my parents for putting up with me and supporting me, I want to thank my coaches and the volunteers who have spent their time helping and pushing me to get better.


Jackson Hill is the Jeremy and Denise Hill. Activities in High School: Football, wrestling, rugby, FCA, NHS.  Plans after High School: Attend a four-year university in pursuit of a degree where I can make an impact on the people and community around me.  First, I’d like to thank my parents for everything they’ve done and my brother and sister. Next, I’d like to thank all the coaches and teammates that have helped me become a better person and athlete. Also, I’d like to thank Sarah, Brittany, and rest of their training posse. last day I’d like to thank the community and all the people who have devoted time and energy to making this the best experience possible. Go Jay’s!

Payton Rowe is the son of Jason and Nicole Rowe.  Activities in High School: Cross Country, Basketball, Wrestling, Track, Speech.  Plans after High School: I plan to attend college to run Cross Country and Track, I plan to study Pre-Law then transfer over to law school after my sports eligibility is done.  I wanted to thank my family for being one of the best support systems, and my parents especially for always being supportive, creating time to make sports events, giving lifelong advice and always being there for me.
