On Tuesday March 3rd Emma De Costa signed her letter of intent to continue her education and soccer career at Grand View University. Emma said she chose Grandview mainly because of the connection with the coach. Emma also stated that she heard many great things from his former players about the school and the soccer program. Emma plans to study accounting. Emma is going to get ready for the transition after completing her senior year at B-FHS by continuing to play with her Regional Club team until fall practices begin.
Grand View head coach Ventsi Stoimirov had the following to say about Emma, “We are excited to welcome Emma as a Viking this fall!. Emma is a very creative player with great vision on the field. She is very good in 1 vs 1 situations and can deliver dangerous crosses and lethal shots on goal. Despite her soccer ability Emma is an unselfish player and is willing and able to find an open teammate in a better scoring position. We have seen Emma play for several years and has been very impressed with her performance and work ethic at Bondurant Farrar High School and with the Iowa Rush. Emma is capable of playing in multiple positions but we believe she will be a best fit as a center-forward for our team.”
B-FHS head coach Jon Paulsen had this to say about Emma, “Emma is a game changer on the field who commands the ball. She is a very elusive and dangerous goal scorer, who can also hold the middle of the field. She leads by example and makes everyone around her better. We will miss her effortless play on the field, her vision and knowledge of the game, not to mention she is fun to be around and has a great attitude. Grandview is getting a dangerous and accomplished goal scorer who has all of the tools to have success at the next level.”
Best of Luck Emma!
