Bluejays News · Baseball Senior Night!


Monday July 15th six senior baseball players were recognized prior to the start of the Varsity contest against Greene County (see below).  The team responded with a well-played 3-0 victory!  The team finishes the regular season at home this evening against Winterset, JV-V 5:30 pm start!  The Bluejays begin district play on Friday when they travel to Marion to play South Tama 5pm start!  Thank you to our seniors and their families!  Go Bluejays!

Jordan Collins – Parents are Clint and Morgan Collins.  Activities involved in are football, basketball, golf, baseball, student council, FCA, and mentoring.  He has received 2 time all-district honorable mention,1st team All-District, 3 time academic all-district, 3 time academic all-conference in football and 2nd Team All-Conference in baseball. Varsity letter winner in football, basketball, and baseball.  In the fall he plans to attend William Penn to play baseball. “I want to thank my parents for all of their time and effort to getting me to sporting events and my grandparents for driving countless miles to watch me play. Thank you to my coaches for pushing me to be the person I am today. Huge shout out to Sarah for being the best athletic trainer in the world. Thank you Bluejay Nation for all the support throughout the years. Go Jays!

Jack Fogarty – Parents are Dan & Sheri Fogarty.  He has participated in football, basketball, and baseball, lettering in football and baseball.  He plans to attend DMACC in the fall. “I would like to thank my mom and dad for always supporting me in all of the sports and activities that I have participated in. Thank you too all of the coaches in all of the sports I’ve played for putting me in a spot to succeed and for making me a better person. Go Jays!”

Tyler Klemme – Parents are Kevin and Diane Klemme.  Activities involved in are football, basketball, baseball, and National Honor Society.  He received a varsity letter in football and baseball, Academic All-District in football and baseball, and is treasurer of the National Honor Society. In the fall he plans to attend Iowa State and pursue a degree in business.  “I would like thank my family, friends, coaches and Bluejay Nation for all the support you have given me throughout my high school career. Go Jays!

Nicolas Lohse – Parents are Brian and Mary Lohse.  He has participated in football, basketball, baseball, and track during high school. He lettered in football and baseball.  In the fall he plans to attend the University of Northwestern of St. Paul to play football.  “I would like to thank all my friends and BlueJay Nation for all the support given throughout the years. We have the best fans out there. I want to thank my brother and my sister for being a great supporters and helping me through things. Most of all, I want to thank my parents for giving up time, energy and resources for me to play sports. You guys mean the world to me. Also, go Jays!”

Carter Meislahn – Parents are Jeff and Mindy Meislahn.  Activities involved in during high school are football and baseball.  He received a varsity letter in football and baseball and was All-District football.  In the fall he plans to attend DMACC.  “Thank you coaches and my parents for supporting me.”

Brody Sandin – Parents are Jason and Trevi Sandin.  Activities involved in during high school are baseball, basketball, football, and track.  In the fall he plans to attend Southwestern Community College to continue his academic and athletic careers.  “I would like to thank my coaches, teammates, family and all of Bluejay nation for their continued support through the years.  I have enjoyed participating in different sports throughout  high school and getting to know the different coaches and teammates- it has been a blast! To the underclassmen – keep working hard and good things will come…. Go Jays!!!”
