Monday July 1st our senior softball players were recognized prior to the game. Below is a snapshot of our two seniors. The team followed up the senior recognition with a 7-0 win over Gilbert!
Josie Carter – Parents are Paula and Paul Carter. During high school she has been involved in softball, volleyball, FCA, DECA, National Honor Society, speech contest, mentoring, church youth group, Awanas, mission trip, art, softball, leadership council member, and speech manager. She has been involved in student of the month, softball five-year letter, four-year academic letter, DMACC dean’s list, two-time state speech division I rating at district and state contests, two-time all-state speech choral reading nomination, Marshalltown softball all-tournament team, and IHSSA team academic award. She has earned her certified nursing assistant certificate will be going to DMACC and University of Iowa to major in nursing and Spanish. “I would like to thank my teammates, coaches, and most importantly, my family for pushing me to be the best person I can be.”
Regan Osborn – Parents are Rick and Tari Osborn. During high school she has been involved in basketball, softball, NHS, art, art senior seminar, concert choir, and large group speech. She has received a state scholastic art honorable mention and student of the month. Regan has also received two state large group speech division I ratings and placed 7th in the 2019 All-State Art Awards. She has lettered in softball, basketball, art, and academics. After graduation Regan plans on attending Bradley University to study user experience design. “I would like to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for always supporting me and for helping to make me who I am today. I will always cherish the memories I have made with you on and off the field. Words of wisdom: Don’t have any regrets. If something makes you happy — do it!”
