The Bondurant-Farrar boys track team had four events compete on the first day of the Iowa State Co-Ed Track Meet at Drake Stadium. Highlighting the day was junior John Carlson in the High Jump, who placed 4th in Class 3A with a jump of 6’4″.
Junior Drake VanBaale entered the 3200m run on Thursday seeded 24th out of 24 runners. He finished 11th with a personal best time of 9:56.4.
The discus featured junior Greg Schoening, who finished in 19th place with a throw of 132′ 11″ in a very competitive field of athletes. The winner of the event was University of Iowa football commit, Tristan Wirfs of Mount Vernon, with a throw of 190′ 10.”
Junior Matthew Yeager capped off the day for the bluejays as he competed in the 100m dash prelims. He finished 6th in his heat and 16th overall with a time of 11.42.
